12 Feb 2023 | Reclaiming The Concept of Nari Shakti / Bharat Shakti in the age of Globalization The illustrated lecture proposes to give a broad overview on the conceptual schema of Shakta culture of India through three historical periods: ancient, medieval and modern. It will also discuss the relevance of this tradition to the cultural empowerment of Nari Shakti, that is, indeed the untapped cosmic energy of Bharat Shakti. The feminine personifications of the goddess are a rich resource for the regeneration of shaktihood of women and of reclaiming and igniting the ‘Bharat-Shakti’ to support an ethical and environmental ethos in the depraved age of globalization.

14 Feb 2023 – 17 Feb 2023 | Embodying Power The only power that we will never lose, be corrupted or decay is th power that we embody. These practices are the emobodiment of the wisdom of Tripura Sundari. When we embody not just conceptually know or seek Shakti then we can serve Her in our embodied actions of wisdom and grace. Sustainable change requries power and inner wealth of consciousness.
“Entering the matrix of exalted wisdom, beauty and abundance- Sri Suktam sadhana.” In this introductory program we will explore what is authentic power, embodiment and how to uncover wisdom and discernment. We will use one of the most powerful sadhana of the Divine Mother- the Vedic Sri Suktam to reveal, create and sustain embodied power for individual and collective transformation. Sri Suktam reveals the eternal power which is to be aware of awareness of itself and the inherent abundance in that power to sustain consciousness and wisdom. 16 Feb 2023 – 17 Feb 2023 | Belonging and Power We have for long separated the different voices within us in order to belong. This search for belonging over years has made us give up the innate power that we embody but forget. We need the tribe to remind us of this inner power. When we find spaces within and without that reminds us that we belong, the power feels safe to come out, uninhibited, untamed, unbridled. This power can bring about the bridging of divides, herald and manifest the renaissance.

16 Feb 2023 – 17 Feb 2023 | Awakening and Nurturing Shakthi through Chandra Namaskara Chandra or Moon is mystical and is associated with the unknown and the dark, i.e, our Shadow Self. Although our roots speak of living a life in accordance with Moon phases, practices related to it have not seen the light of day for various reasons. Not surprising that the inner self remains a mystery, too, for many! Like the Sun, the Moon is an integral part of the journey of any Yogabhyaasi or Yoga practitioner. If you need a Surya Namaskara that fires you up and prepares you to take on the world, you also need a Chandra Namaskara to quieten and nurture and engage with the silent space of your beautiful Inner Self. This space is vibrant with an energy that once touched, will make you own and speak your truth without fear and with compassion. It will enable you to heal and feel complete. This is the awakening of Shakti that makes you come alive and live a life brimming with strength, compassion and creative possibilities.Chandra Namaskara depicts the phases of Chandra/Moon. It is practised as a beautiful flow where you move laterally across the mat from a standing position to a deep squat and out again to a standing position- symbolising the movements of the journey into your deep inner space to connect and rise with your Shakti. It embodies receiving, giving and nurturing in the space of complete surrender. This is what the world needs now to regain balance in consciousness in order to experience and operate from a space of samatvam, equilibrium. |

17 Feb 2023 – 19 Feb 2023 | Whirling Mandala ® – a dance meditation in stillness & motion Whirling Mandala ® – is a sacred dance whirling meditation, inspired from the ancient Sufi mystics, the wild spinning gypsies, the earthy ghumraos of Rajasthan, the crystalized awareness of zen masters and teachings of Indian mystic Osho. Whirling in India is special because it mirrors the consciousness of this land. India is unique. This land holds diversity, She embraces polarities, She dissolves contradictions, and it is here, in Her heart space where paradoxes meet. In this potent field Shiva & Shakti are one energy. And motion & stillness are emerging from one dimension. This is the heart of whirling meditation – stillness in the center and organized chaos all around.

17 Feb 2023 – 19 Feb 2023 | Māyāpañcakam: A Study in Women and Spiritual Liberation The concept of māyā, the feminine śakti is misunderstood in society in general. māyā or self-ignorance and delusion is conflated with women and their inability for spiritual growth. In a land that eulogizes Goddesses, women are often seen as unfit for spiritual education and liberation, and are generally seen as feckless and fickle, temptresses and impediments to spiritual ascension of men. A study of the Māyāpañcakam, a short quintet ascribed to Adi Sankara, dismisses these myths by understanding the concept of śakti correctly as a power that is a feminine component of Īśvara, the Lord, manifest as creative power and all knowledge. Through this study of this text, we can have a better comprehension of the nuanced gender-dynamics in India and also find ways of seeing gender as a transformative and liberating force in the lives of women.

18 Feb 2023 | Between Two Breaths ‘a Universal Pause’ Conceptualised and created by Zia Nath, this performance is inspired from ancient sculpted stories of the Temples of Orissa, and the wild abandon of spinning gypsies of India & Asia. These dances are tales of love suspended in the realms of sensuality and spirituality. Expressed as movement translations of ancient tantra sutras and passionate sufi poetry, laced with music of Indian and Persian origin, the dances create a tapestry of rhythm, mystique and magic.

20 Feb 2023 | Ayurveda For Divine Feminine In this workshop we will learn ‘Ayurveda for Divine Feminine’ not through the masculine perspective (logical brain) alone, but also through the feminine perspective (emotional body) as well. We must learn to heal ourselves through self-love and self care. This is foundational.’Ayurveda for Divine Feminine’ professes that there is no such thing as ideal health, that the mind/body complex is never in perfect balance, but always in flux. When we study Shakti, Life Force, we see that she is always shifting and changing. For that reason, she is not reaching for a standard of perfection, but instead concentrating on her own resources of adaptability. The feminine perspective to understand ‘health’ is the ability to adapt to the changing environment and circumstances of life. ‘Ayurveda for Divine Feminine’ is a subtle science with profound impact once understood and practiced.

Acknowledging the continuity of life through our ancestors all the way to our presence in the here and now has been and continues to be one of the most ancient traditions of our land. All forms of healing implicitly involve the presence of the divine feminine to call upon the ancestors and hold a space of restoration and regeneration of the human spirit. This process brings to the land and its people healing from the wounds and traumas because of which we have lost connection to this ancient practice of Shraaddham in its true essence.
